Result 1: Research on the topic of engagement of young people in their local communities regarding the fight against global warming

Our first intellectual output is a research report which will examine the levels of young people's participation in the fight against climate change – and any barriers they face; the number of organizations who are active in the field of environment and the activities they offer for young people. Research is made in the high schools in all of the partner countries. The focus of the research is to find out how much the young students are involved and informed about the question of global warming in all of the partner countries. After this research is done, a mapping of organizations that offer services with environmental activities is done, we present a national report containing the information about the findings. A map is created connecting both the organization that provide such services be promoted to the high schools where the young people could become active. Additionally, a general report containing the similarities and differences of all of the partner country findings will be created. The participating organizations have found through working with partners that organizations do not feel confident in their ability to include youngster especially young people with disabilities in their activities. The key innovative aspect of this output is that it will generate original research which can be used to tackle this inclusion gap and will provide information on the current opportunities for both the young people and the organizations which would want to mobilize them.

This research explores the experiences of the organizations in four countries (Lithuania, Italy, North Macedonia and Turkey).

The objectives of the research are:

- To find out how much the young students are involved and informed about the question of global warming in all of the partner countries

- to find organizations that offer services with environmental activities

- To provide useful information to organizations as well as young students with and without disabilities where they can join in activities regarding their environment

Result 2: Platform

"Result 2" aims to create a platform where young people can contribute to improving the environment. A platform was created to publicise initiatives at local level.
Young people could keep track of activities taking place in their local area, which they could join. Young people can also create their own initiatives and promote them so that more people can join them.

Each of the organisations used the information gathered during the survey to find out which organisations or schools offer activities on environmental issues for young people with and non-disabled people. The result is a platform that improves communication between young people when they share the same goal.

You can find the platform by clicking HERE or in the Menu panel above.
